So far in September...

Hi Everyone!
This is a picture of myself and Nicolette when we had a staff fun day in Ocho Rios back in August. Nicky lives on the base with her mom, who is involved with community transformation stuff. I couldn't put this on the website where I post my other pictures because I reached my maximum for the month. I guess I'll have to be more selective next time.
Anyway, we're well into prepping the base for the arrival of the Dischipleship Training Scool students who are set to get here next weekend. I am really excited to be a part of dts, I think it will help me to see more of God's purpose in calling me here. It hasn't been as easy to see His intentions while scrubbing bathrooms and sweeping out dorms but these things must get done!
I am looking forward to learning from the students and I pray that God will use me to show more of Himself to them. The final numbers are 24 students and 6 staff. More details about that in my next update...
My other job here is to be a secretary of sorts for dts and to correspond with teams while the people who currently do that go on furlough.
In other news, I bought a package of envelopes so I could mail some letters. They must've been in the store since 1992 because they have that peach/light green Arizona pattern on them that was popular back in the early 90's. When I opened the package in my room I realized that all the envelopes were stuck shut, probably from the humidity and from being in the store since 1992.
Finally, a prayer request: I recently learned that my friend Patrick's mother died unexpectedly. Patrick lives in a very rough innercity neighbourhood in Kingston and he is left to care for his 2 younger sisters. I spoke to him today and it sounds like he's holding up pretty well, all things considered. So, please pray that the Lord will continue to give Patrick strength and peace and that he would not be alone as he grieves. Also, some of us are looking into going to Kingston this Saturday to be at his mother's funeral. Please pray for safety as we travel.
Thank you so much & God bless you.
